So many people to meet, so little time...

Derek is now 5 weeks old and he has had a very busy week.  He is becoming a bit more active; he smiles and is beginning to really focus on objects and sounds.

Adam's cousins in Israel got us a Loopi (the contraption you see below).  I love it because it allows me to be handsfree and it calms Derek down -- to the point where he falls asleep!

Derek's Great Aunt and Uncle paid us a visit.  They came in from Maryland and spent a few days visiting.  We hope they had as good a time as we.

 Although Derek is five weeks old, he still sleeps alot.  We are not complaining about this at all!!!  But, he'll sleep anytime/anywhere (except for maybe in the middle of the night when we want him to sleep in his crib).

During one of our recent trips to Hollywood to see Bubby and Zaide, Derek was put into his carseat with socks and a knit hat (yes, it was our first "cold snap" of the season).  By the time we got back up to Boca, this is what he looked like:

Derek has grown SO much!  Here is the outfit we brought him home in (from the hospital).  At the time, he was swimming in it, now it's so small, we may have to retire it from his wardrobe!  Plus, he's now weighing just under 11 pounds...so we've moved out of newborn diapers and into size 1's!

For weeks now, Lori has been peed on, pooped on, and thrown-up on...finally Adam got to share some of the joy:

One night Derek was so fussy that he not only unwrapped himself from being swaddled, but he managed to kick his entire onesie down over his shoulders and arms and past his diaper!  He was NOT a happy baby!  It made for a VEEEERRRRRYYYYY long night... 

But, Derek always seems to calm down when Dean is around to pamper him juuuuust right.
