Daddy's Birthday had more fun than expected. It started with Josh falling face first into the hard floor. Luckily, we got the bleeding to stop and Dr. Papa said no stitches necessary!
But, at least we were able to share some nice presents and celebratory dinner with Daddy.
The first week back from winter break was a busy one. BOTH boys were Shabbat Abbas! It was fun to celebrate and have Bubby join in the fun, too!
Abba or not, Josh LOVES shabbat --- this is his happy dance when he found out it was Friday -- "Shabbat Day!"
Shake what yo mama gave ya - Josh
Josh and Derek truly enjoy singing along with the Shabbat songs and getting into the Shabbat spirit!
Derek's New Year's Resolution Journal Entry:
"To thro a bal vere far."

We even had a fun Tot Shabbat celebration that evening for Grandparents' Day!
Benji gets a turn to be Abba.
Smooches for Benji
Derek was the first Barbag to find out about and ask for a Zippy Sack. Unfortunately, the one he wanted was on back-order, but he decided he would rather wait for the one he really, really wants. And, it arrived! Thanks Bauby M and Zaide Shelly....he's in love!
There's nothing more amazing than watching Derek read Josh a bedtime story. We are incredibly in awe of how quickly he is picking up on some of his Pre-K goings on.

Meanwhile, back at the home front, weekends around here are all fun and games. Thanks to our next door neighbors for donating a ton of their old games to us --- we have so many more things to play with now!!!
Of course, board games only last so long --- then the rowdy reptiles come out to play:
Pile up on aisle 3.
Benji is the roughest of them all!
Josh is picking up on "school" and has started to write his name! He may not know all of his letters, but he has the makings of his name!
Josh begins to write his name!!!
Benji is beginning to stand on his own (January 21st --- sure, why not?) - but he seems to do all of it "off camera."
Benji Stands
Up and Standing -- of course, when he falls he claps for himself and says, "Yay!"
Benji Cheers for Himself Standing
Benji loves to give kisses to his brothers!!!
Kisses from Benji
Kisses from Benji - Timelapse
All of this loving.....
Benji spent about 10 minutes running around and kissing Josh --- he is IN LOVE!
...led to this not so loving, coxsackievirus outbreak in our home (poor Benji and Josh).
Not happy about a doctor's visit, nor about having to wear winter clothes!
Derek helps Josh to "brave" the doctor --- easy when the visit is not for you!
And, of course, it gets worse before it gets better:
Poor little guys.
Ouchie.
At least Josh keeps a good sense of humor about it all.
The type of kissing that doesn't allow one to share germs with his brothers.
Luckily, we're all on the mend -- and, although it looked awful, the boys handled it quite well.
Benji loves to share his food with "Cher, cher"
Now, we're back to eating (Mommy and Daddy out of house and home) and riding our bikes all over the place!
Derek on his balance bike.
Bat boy on neighborhood watch!
Mommy walked Benji, while Derek and Josh rode their bikes all the way from one Barbag home to the next!
The boys enjoy their holiday present from Grandma and Papa!
When there's dinner at Grandma's --- there's also dessert!
Derek explains the difference between a "s'more" and a "sh'more" (as Grandma likes to call it).
S'more vs. Sh'more
Back in time for bedtime books!
Re-energizing for some more fun
We also have helped our friends celebrate birthdays -- we always enjoy that!
Super Derek to the rescue!
The boys LOVE the rides....
...maybe not all of the boys!
But Benji can certainly hang with the mouse.
Derek dances with his buddy!
Why do the best shots always come out of this silly sketch machine at Chuck-e-Cheese?
Benji and Mommy
By Benji's calculations....
...yup, I'm still a little too young to join Mommy and Daddy and Derek and Josh to see "Elephant and Piggie - We Are In A Play!"
Ready to watch!
First Paintings
The boys enjoyed the play almost as much as they love the Mo Willem books!
More "entertainment" at home....
After weeks of coloring...
...the space ship is ready to launch!
Muscle men -- you've got to be fit to be an astronaut!
These hooligans are stacking up everything and taking no prisoners....
....or are they?!
Fun visit with Bubby!
Benji is getting really good at standing...and is SO close to walking!
Yummy Popsicle time!
Benji gets a special treat --- Carol babysits and plays with him for a bit!
Benji Selfie with G-ma's phone!
Bang, bang your hammer!
Grandma, we know he's cute as a button, but it
doesn't mean you have to put them all over him!
Yay! Daddy's home!
On our way to dinner, we saw this awesome antique. Zaide Shermie, you would have loved seeing this beauty! The Good Old Days...
Josh decides to start t-ball with Derek for the first time! Guess who is coaching --- yup, Mama.
At least they look the part --- sort of.
Speaking of Old Days, we were able to speak with World War II Veterans and climb up and into a few actual World War II aircraft at "The Wings of Freedom" tour!
If the boys are going to join the military, they're going to need to get rid of the shag. Off for haircuts!

They clean up well, don't they? January sure was busy, but we're happy to crash into 2016 with a bang!
