As summer ends and we begin a new school year, late morning snuggles will become few and far between. But, the boys are excited to see what the new school year has in store! Derek is starting Kindergarten at Mommy's school and Josh (Pre-K4) and Benji (Toddler 2's) will remain at the Temple. A great year is about to begin!

Ready for a crazy first day!
After the first day of school, Derek said he wasn't going to go back because there were "too many rules." When we asked him what kind of rules he had to follow he said, "Clean up after himself, not make a mess" --- you know, stuff we never do at home. " 😉
After returning to school the next day, he realized it wasn't so bad, and at the end of the week he was the first to earn the "Good Citizen" Award. That's when we decided Derek was probably trying so hard to follow all of the rules to the best of his ability, so he could receive the award -- that's A LOT of rules! hehehe. We are so proud of our good citizen.
Miss Denise allows the recipient to adopt a pet for the weekend. Because we were headed to DC to celebrate Safta's 97th birthday, Derek's adopted dog, Brownie, joined us on our trip!
The Good Citizen and Brownie

Benji also has a unique understanding of the word "blanket." Here's a view of his use of a "blanket:"
